Hi everyone. Today is a sleepy day. Tanya is not feeling very good and is very tired. Dr. Cahill . has been in this morning and she wants Tanya to be sitting in chair more and just stand by the side of bed but the nurse Jules just came in and wants her to walk. So we will see how she does. Sheisn't a good morning person anyway . Yesterday they did another bronc and found less mucus then before, but very thick. Thick enough so she would not be able to cough it up had she been healthy also found a fugus growing. Now to find another antibiotic to take care of that. More later

Somemore update on yesterday. The afternoon was quite busy. First they did a bronc. That is where the put a camera with sucton down her vent. to sucton out all the mucus created by the new lungs when they are starting to work. For those of you who are not familiar with the vent it is a tube that goes down your thoat to the lung and pumps oxygen . Tanya says it doesn't hurt but is very uncomfortable because it restricts the oxygen flow. Very stressful. But they do give her medication to calm her. She walk yesterday, down to the nurses station. She sat in the chair for about and hour after. She was very tired and slept very well last night.. Now for today the 29th She started her day walking. She went to the end of the nurses station and back today. That was very good.

Today I am happy to report that Tanya is doing much better. Yesterday she was sitting up in a chair for about 4 hours her color is good and she feels stronger. she still has the vent in we are hoping maybe Monday that will come out. But with all this she has a sparkle in her eye. I think she is thinking of all the things she can do after this. Thanks to everyone for their support and all of the prayers. They are helping.

Tanya has been doing really well. She has been sitting up for a couple hours a day, she has walked, the vent and drain tubes came out Tuesday 9/23 and did well until yesterday 9/24 when one of her bottom lungs collapsed. She is now on a by-pap machine. Have not talked to Drs yet. She tried to walk last night from her bed to the door but had to sit 3 times. Not good. She is a tough little gal, so I'm sure she will be up and going soon. I'm going to fly to SLC tomarrow so I will have first hand info.

3rd day
Tanya had a rough night, she is a little down today. She will not be taken of ventilator today. They want to see how her lungs are doing first. They do that by putting a small camera down the ventilator tube. She has been taken of some of the medications. They are having a little trouble regulating her blood pressure but we are told that is normal because the body is fighting against the tube for the ventilator and the tremendous shock to her little body.

New Lungs
Hi I'm Tanya's aunt and I will be posting until she is able. My name is Kerry and I am happy to let you know Tanya has a new pair of lungs. Happened Monday the 15 of Sept. She went into surgery at about 6:30am and they were finished about 3:30pm. She is doing well so far. I will keep you updated as I get information. They will already start turning down the ventilator today, will see how she does. She is a very determined young lady. But we ask for prayers.

A Dog's Purpose
A Dog's Purpose (from a 6-year-old) Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.
I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.
The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.
Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.
The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why.' Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.
He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?' The six-year-old continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'
Live simply...Love generously...Care deeply...Speak kindly
Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
Stop when you have had enough.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

September
Well it is already the 2nd of September already.. Labor Day weekend is over.. I hope everyone had a good one.. I had a relaxing Friday and just chilled, Sat I thought I was feeling good then as the day went on I started to feel more crappy by that night I was not doing anything cause I was so short of breath.. I was supposed to go to my friends birthday party but there was no going due to how I was feeling.. I tried to go but my body just simply said NO. Sunday I felt like dirt most of the day, I was glad that my Grama and Dad came down though.. They brought me some goodies.. Oh I live to get goodies.. Grams brought me some more books to read... I better get reading them so the next time they come down I can exchange for some new ones to read..
It's now Monday night/Tue morning. I was pretty good today. I was able to make it to the dog park and do a few thing around the house.. Lets hope that tomorrow will be the same..
We had a real nice rain storm yesterday and last night, so the air is nice and clean right now.. The thunder was crashing all around.. I love thunder!! I love lightning too, just not when it starts fires or hit the house..
My friend Will needs some extra prayers today.. So if you will send your thoughts and prayers his was as well. Much will be appreciated..
Thanks to you all..
